Abbas Amini’s movie, which is a narrative of some contemporary social issues, will represent Iran at this year’s edition of the event.
“It’s been a few months that Amir has been deported from France. For the sake of his father, Amir is engaged in a shocking crime,” a synopsis for the movie reads.
Produced by Javad Norouzbeigi, the script for the 125-minute film has been co-written by Amini and Hossein Farrokhzadeh.
Hassan Pour-Shirazi, Baran Kosari, Mani Haqiqi, and Amir-Hossein Fathi are notable on the cast list of the movie.
The IFF-San Francisco, is the first independent Iranian film festival outside of Iran.
This year, the festival will screen 60 films from Iran, and other countries, including the US, the UK, Italy, Canada, Germany, France, China, Bulgaria, and Tunisia.
The 14th annual Iranian Film Festival – San Francisco will take place on September 18-19.
